Short Overview
This professional capacity-building course equips participants with the knowledge, tools, and strategies required to access, mobilize, and effectively deploy climate finance in alignment with national and international climate objectives.
Grounded in real-world applications and AE4RIA’s systems-based approach, the course provides a comprehensive understanding of the global climate finance landscape, including funding sources, financial instruments, and investment frameworks. It addresses the persistent climate finance gap, highlighting the economic urgency of action and the limitations of market mechanisms alone.
Participants will develop the ability to design bankable climate projects, navigate complex financial ecosystems, and build integrated climate finance strategies that align with NDCs, LT-LEDS, and broader development priorities. The course emphasizes multi-level governance, stakeholder engagement, and cross-sector collaboration, ensuring that financial solutions are both technically robust and socially inclusive.

- Specific techno-economic knowledge for each pillar of sustainable development.

Program Value

Vocational Education and Training Certificate
Trainees who successfully complete the program are granted a Vocational Education and Training Certificate of the Center for Education and Lifelong Learning of the Athens University of Economics and Business, which is accompanied by a Supplement to the Certificate, detailing the subject of the program, the thematic units attended by the trainee , as well as the training methodology followed.
Target Audience
The program is targeted to students and graduates as well as executives from relevant industries of the private sector but also of the public sector and the third sector of Civil Society’s NGOs, CSOs who focus on climate finance and sustainable development. Also Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Managers, young scientists, academics and researchers among others.
Prerequisite Knowledge
The Programme addresses at least High school diploma graduates and B2-level proficiency in English.
