Evgenia Thomopoulou was born in Athens in 1987.
She studied Law at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (N.K.P.A.) where she also completed her postgraduate studies in the field of Tax Law, with excellent performance. She also Tax Law at the Athens School of Economic and Commercial Sciences (ASOEE).
In 2013 she became a member of the Athens Bar Association and since then she has been working in the field of Tax Law, undertaking the extrajudicial and judicial representation of taxpayers, individuals, Greek tax residents and foreign tax residents, regarding their personal tax obligations or their joint liability arising from their participation in legal entities, and also the extrajudicial and judicial representation of legal entities and other legal structures and offshore companies in cases of improper fulfillment of declaratory obligations, in cases of tax evasion and money laundering as well as in cases of questioning tax residency and legal establishment in Greece. In this context, she has successfully completed tax audits conducted against individuals and legal entities by the Center for the Control of Large Wealth Taxpayers (K.E.FO.ME.P.), the Center for the Control of Large Enterprises (K.E.ME.EP.), the Public Revenue Audit and Assurance Service (Y.E.D.D.E.) as well as by locally competent Public Financial Services (D.O.Y.) and other audit centers (EL.KE.) and has a significant success rate in cases that have been brought to the attention of investigation before the Financial Prosecutor, before the Dispute Resolution Directorate and for hearing before the Administrative Courts and the Council of State as well as before the Criminal Courts (cases with Tax Criminal Law). At the same time, she provides legal advice regarding the correct interpretation and application of the current Greek tax legislation, tax planning matters, the fulfillment of declaratory obligations of individuals and legal entities, the relocation to and from Greece as well as the tax implications of future investments.
Since 2020, Evgenia has joined the teaching staff of the Athens School of Economic and Commercial Sciences (ASOEE) where she gives courses on Interpretation and Application of the Tax Procedure Code while, at the same time, she participates as a lecturer in seminars and conferences of academic interest.
