Adam Vrechopoulos is Professor at the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB), School of Business, Department of Management Science and Technology (DMST). Since 2003 (when he elected Lecturer) he is Member of the Teaching and Research staff of the DMST of AUEB and Scientific Coordinator of the Interactive Marketing and Electronic Services (IMES) Research Group (renamed to “Digital Marketing and Electronic Retailing – DIMER” Research Group at 2023) of the ELTRUN E-Business Research Center of the Department. Since 2008 he is a member of the Associate Teaching Staff of the Hellenic Open University in Marketing I and Marketing II sections, while in the past he has served as member of the Electronic Business Interaction (EBI) Research Group at Brunel University, UK. He has extensive teaching experience in the context of several Undergraduate, Master and PhD Programs, significant research activity in the areas of Digital Marketing and Electronic Commerce and extensive university administrative experience. He holds a Ph.D. in Electronic Retailing and Digital Marketing from Brunel University, Department of Information Systems and Computing, UK, an MBA (major: Marketing) from the Athens Laboratory of Business Administration (ALBA) and a BSc from the AUEB, Department of Informatics. He has participated in the submission and implementation of many research proposals and projects, and he has wide administrative experience in the organization and coordination of conferences, conference tracks, educational programs, research, and professional seminars, working groups, etc. as well as significant teaching experience in the context of research and professional training seminars. He has successfully supervised 6 PhD Dissertations and approximately 190 Master Theses and Field Study Projects, while he has designed and developed a significant number of new courses in Undergraduate, Master and PhD Programs. His published work includes more than 150 publications in scientific conference proceedings, edited volumes and scientific journals (Journal of Retailing, Information Systems Journal, Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, Information & Management, European Journal of Marketing, International Journal of Electronic Commerce etc.), 2 books, 2 sections in textbooks, 1 edited volume (as co-editor) with an international publisher, digital educational material (e.g. case studies, lecture notes, etc.), series of articles in business journals and press, etc. He has served as Senior Editor, Associate Editor, Guest Editor, Editorial Board Member and Reviewer in international scientific journals, as Program Scientific Committee Member, Associate Editor, Track Chair, Session Chair and Reviewer in international scientific conferences and he has received awards and international distinctions for his research work. Also, he has served as member in various scientific bodies and he has an extensive professional experience through participating in various industry events and taking initiatives relevant to his research interests (e.g. invited speaker, member of judging committees of business contests, organization and coordination of sessions in business conferences, member of scientific committees of sectoral bodies etc.), while in the past he has worked as business executive and freelancer in the fields of Marketing, Sales and Public Relations.
