Pantelidi Irini Xrysobalantou

Irini Pantelidi comes from Rhodes. She lived for 15 years in Great Britain, where she completed her studies and gained many years of teaching and clinical experience in the field of psychology and psychotherapy. She obtained a BA in psychology & sociology (University of Derby), an MA in counselling (University of Hull) and a second MA in cognitive behavioural psychotherapy (University of Derby), as well as completing her training in EMDR, which specialises in the resolution of post-traumatic stress. In 2014 she completed her PhD research, on low self-esteem and perfectionism. On commencing her PhD, at the age of 24, she was recognised as a clinical lecturer in the Department of Social Sciences and Psychotherapy at the University of Derby and the University of Hull, where she taught cognitive behavioural psychotherapy and counselling psychology for 8 years.

Simultaneously with her academic career, she gained extensive clinical experience working as a psychotherapist since 2001 with children/adolescents and adults in the resolution of anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, emotional disorders, eating disorders, panic attacks, etc. She has worked with the public sector and the National Health Service of England as well as with the private sector in collaboration with clinics and psychotherapy centres. Since coming to Greece in 2011 she has been working as a freelance psychotherapist. Also for 2 years she worked as a teacher in a private school in postgraduate programs in psychology and psychotherapy. She has given successive talks in central and northern England and in many workshops in Greece as well as interviews on BB radio and Greek radio.
