Since 2004, Evangelos Karademas is a faculty member at the Department of Psychology, University of Crete (currently a Professor of Clinical Health Psychology). Between 2004 and 2014 he served as the Chair of the University of Crete Counselling Center for Students, as well as the Chair of the Department of Psychology from 2012 to 2014. Since 2020 Evangelos is the Director of the Laboratory of Applied Psychology, University of Crete. He is a member of the editorial board in six international and two Greek journals, as well as an Associated Editor in two journals. He is an Honorary Fellow and currently the President of the European Health Psychology Society (2020-2022). Since 2017, he is a research affiliate at the Foundation for Research and Technology - Hellas (Institute of Computer Science). He has authored one book, edited six more, and published more than 130 scientific articles and chapters in international and local journals and editions. His research interests include the role of stress in health and illness, self-regulation, dyadic regulation and health, adaptation to chronic illness, and well-being.
