Athanasios Safaris is a graduate of the Department of Business Organization and Management of the Athens University of Economics and Business (ASOEE, 1984) and has attended a series of educational seminars on business management topics (Athens University of Economics and Business), computer science (Continuous Training Institute - C.T.I., Training Institute - T.I.) and tax audits (Ministry of Finance - Independent Authority for Public Revenue). He started his professional career in 1978 and from 1992 onwards he served as an employee of the Ministry of Finance in the Income Tax Directorate. He was the President of the Committee for the implementation of the new tax law (4172/2013). He served for many years as the Head of the First Department of the Direct Taxation Directorate (for individuals) of the Independent Authority for Public Revenue. He has extensive experience as a presenter of professional seminars on topics covering the entire spectrum of personal income tax (Individual Income Taxation - Taxation of Non-Resident Taxpayers - Issues of International Conventions). Within the framework of these seminars, he has taught tax issues in training seminars of the Ministry of Finance as well as in seminars organized by chambers of commerce, associations, and other entities.
