Kostara Efrosini

Efrosini Kostara is a philologist and holds a Ph.D. in Adult Education from the Hellenic Open University, specializing in teacher training. She instructs Adult Education and Special Education at the Hellenic Open University, Harokopeion University, and the National Kapodistrian University of Athens. From 2020 to 2022, the Institute of Educational Policy assigned her the task of developing new curricula, training teachers, and preparing the writing of the New School Manuals for the Ancient Greek course in Gymnasium. Her focus lies in training secondary education teachers on teaching methodology, emphasizing skill development. Simultaneously, her research interests encompass the theory of transformative learning and its didactic application. She is also involved in teaching ancient Greek tragedy to students, teachers, and adult educators. In addition, she has authored educational materials on teaching methodology for distance education programs at the Hellenic Open University and the National and Kapodistrian University. She has presented her work at international conferences, contributed to international edited volumes, and co-edited a volume published by Routledge in 2022. In 2024, she is expected to publish her monograph entitled "Diversity and Inclusivity through Classics: a Teaching Methodology in Formal and Adult Education."
