Legal Expert, Head of Transparency Department, Hellenic Radio and Television Council

Georgios Anagnostaras is a Lawyer (Thessaloniki Bar Association) and provides his services as a Legal Expert at the Hellenic Radio and Television Council and as Head of its Transparency Department. He teaches at the Hellenic Open University (Public Administration Program), the Open University of Cyprus (Law Program) and at the post graduate programs of the Athens University of Economics and Business. He has lectured on several legal subject for many years (1995-2025) at graduate and post graduate level, both in Greece and abroad (University of Bristol, Universiteit van Amsterdam). He is a graduate of the Law School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and holds a Master's Degree (LLM in European Legal Studies) with distinction and a PhD in Law from the University of Bristol, United Kingdom. His main scientific and research interests are in the areas of European Union Law, European Public Law and Media Law. He has written sixty-seven articles and case notes, most of them in the top European legal journals (European Law Review, Common Market Law Review, German Law Journal, European Constitutional Law Review, Oxford Yearbook of European Law, European Business Law Review, European Papers, European Public Law). His work has been widely recognized, as evidenced by the more than five hundred international citations to it. He has participated in many law-making committees and committees for the transfer of Directives into national legislation, as well as in committees for the training of professionals from other countries in matters of Media Law.
