Symeonidou Charis

Charis Symeonidou is a lawyer, member of the Athens Bar Association. She holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in IT Law from Humboldt University of Berlin and a Law degree from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. Since 2020, she has been serving as a Legal Auditor at the Hellenic Data Protection Authority, in Complaints Department B. She has contributed to the Authority’s ByDesign and ByDefault projects, as well as to the European Data Protection Board’s (EDPB) 2022 Coordinated Action on the use of cloud services by public bodies. Since 2021, she has represented the Authority in the EDPB’s Financial Matters Experts Subgroup. With prior experience in the Legal Department of the National Bank of Greece, in law firms in Athens, and in the Scientific Department of Nomiki Bibliothiki publishing company, she has extensive expertise in data protection law and legal issues related to new technologies. She has also published articles and delivered presentations at conferences and seminars.
