Dr. Konstantinos Limniotis is an ICT specialist at the Hellenic Data Protection Authority since 2009, being the Head of the Research Department since 2024. In this capacity, he represents the Authority in several EDPB expert groups, whilst he also participates in EU-funded projects. He also holds visiting positions, as an Adjunct Faculty Member, at the Open University of Cyprus and the University of Athens, teaching postgraduate courses in cryptography and network security (having received excellence in teaching awards). He has participated as a senior researcher in several research projects. He is a graduate of the Department of Informatics and Telecommunications of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, holding a Master’s degree from the same Department in Communication Systems and Networks. He holds a Ph.D. degree in cryptography from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens since 2007. His main research interests include cryptography, personal data protection and information security, having more than 50 publications in these areas (book chapters, refereed international journals and conferences), whilst he is also regular reviewer in international journals and conferences. He has been teaching subjects related to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) at the National Centre for Public Administration since 2018, as well as at the National School of Public Administration since 2024.
