Georgia Panagopoulou holds a Diploma in Computer Engineering and Informatics from Polytechnic School, Department of Computer Engineering and Informatics in University of Patras, Greece, and a Diplome d' Etudes Superieures Specialisees (DESS) Genie Informatique from Universite Joseph Fourier (Grenoble I), France. She is also certified ITIL Manager in ITSM, with distinction. She is the Head of Audits and Security Department in Hellenic Data Protection Authority, where she works as an ICT Auditor since 2006. She is the Representative of Greece in the European Data Protection Board Technology Expert Group. She has participated as External Expert for ENISA and as lead team expert in EU projects Co-funded by the Rights, Equality and Citizenship Programme - ByDesign, ByDefault, coordinated by the Hellenic Data Protection Authority as well as an expert in “Problem based training on the data protection reform package in GR and CY” delivering trainings for DPOs. Before HDPA, she has worked for 10 years in the private sector as a solution architect and account manager in Hewlett Packard, Greece and a software engineer in Sun Microsystems, France. She speaks and writes Greek, English, French and German.
