Data Analysis and Programming with Python 3

Short Overview
Python is probably the most popular general purpose programming language with application mainly in data science. Companies use it to glean insights from their data and gain a competitive advantage. This course is aimed at people with basic programming knowledge who want to learn a language useful in data analysis and business analytics. The teaching procedure includes video presentations, slides and access to an interactive book. In the first part, the Python language is taught, followed by applications to data science problems.
Learning Goals
Upon completion of the program, learners will be able to:
  • Program and understand programming codes in Python language
  • Recognize the value and the abilities of specific language in data science.
  • Use different data visualization techniques.
  • Represent and process data in a way that leads to valuable information
Program Value
Participants acquire knowledge and skills related to the Python language, which is particularly widespread in many applications (Web development, Data Analysis, Visualization, etc.) while there is a great demand from the job market for people who know it. Since Python is quite a modern language, it has not been included, at least in the previous decade, in the curriculum of many Higher Education Institutions.
Evaluation Method And Final Grade Computation
Grading is based on evaluation questions and programming assignments. Successful completion of the program and the awarding of a training certificate requires a final grade of at least 50%.
Learning Method Description
The program uses the eLearning educational method: learning takes place purely asynchronously (that is, on days and hours that serve the trainee, without mandatory attendance at a specific time or day), exclusively remotely (using a special educational platform via the internet from the trainee's area) and using digital educational tools such as video lectures, interactive self-assessment exercises, and other elearning tools that ensure effective and flexible individual self-learning. The program's training material becomes available at specific time periods, based on the training path followed, and then remains available on the training platform without restrictions throughout the duration of the program.

Target Audience
The program is aimed at HEI/TEI graduates and/or executives of companies and organizations who are interested in data analysis and programming with the Python language.
Prerequisite Knowledge
Basic computer usage (spreadsheets, word processors, browsers, email)
The tuition is €350 and is paid in two installments. The first installment, of €150, is paid as an advance payment before the start of the courses, to secure the place, and the second, of €200, is paid before the program is half completed. In the event of a discount, the above amounts are reduced proportionally. Especially in the case of a 20% discount, the above amounts are set at €280 (total amount), €150 (first installment - advance payment) and €130 (second installment).
Trainees are informed of the installment amounts and related deadlines via email upon their acceptance into the program.
