CyberStart: Certified in Cybersecurity

Short Overview
This program is a complete introduction to cybersecurity, designed for non-technical graduates, professionals, and IT graduates who wish to enter the cybersecurity field without prior experience. The program aims to provide the fundamental technical and theoretical knowledge and fully prepare participants for the ISC2 CC – Certified in Cybersecurity certification, the official entry-level certification of the leading global authority ISC, https://www.isc2.org/certifications/cc.
Program Value

Cybersecurity is one of the fastest growing areas of IT, and training in it offers significant professional opportunities, both in Greece and abroad. There is a huge shortage of cybersecurity professionals worldwide (over 3.5 million positions according to studies of 2024). The European Union and Greece, due to GDPR and increasing cyberattacks, are increasingly demanding more specialists.

Weekly Schedule
The lessons will take place 2 days a week for 12 weeks (3 months). Lessons will take place in the periods 6/10-25/12, 12/1-2/4, and 11/5-31/7.

Evaluation Method And Final Grade Computation
The trainees will be assessed based on an individual assignment. A trainee is considered successful if they complete the assignment with a grade of 50 or above (on a scale of 0–100), according to detailed criteria that will be outlined during the course. In the event that the trainee does not successfully complete the program, with a grade below 50, they will be allowed to resubmit the assignment at a later date as many times as needed.
Learning Method Description

Trainees can attend the program in two different ways: through in-person attendance or via Live Streaming, meaning through an online platform from a location of their choice.

For in-person attendance, priority is given based on the date of registration completion, due to a limited number of seats in the classroom. Participants attending in person must bring a laptop to each class. Trainees choose their preferred mode of attendance in their application.

The Live Streaming method offers the following advantages:

  • Training without geographical limitations
  • Real-time attendance of lectures from the trainee’s own location
  • Ability to ask questions to the instructor
  • Option to watch recorded lectures at a later time
  • Access to all training materials electronically (the full educational content is provided free of charge)

Vocational Education and Training Certificate
Trainees who successfully complete the program are granted a Vocational Education and Training Certificate of the Center for Education and Lifelong Learning of the Athens University of Economics and Business, which is accompanied by a Supplement to the Certificate, detailing the subject of the program, the thematic units attended by the trainee , as well as the training methodology followed.

CyberStart is an accelerated program that fully prepares for the Certified in Cybersecurity (CC) certification from ISC – the international organization behind the CISSP.

Installements
The tuition fee amounts to €750 and is paid in 3 installments: an initial deposit of €250 before the start of the program, a second installment of €250 before the halfway point of the program, and a final installment of €250 before the program's completion.
Trainees are informed of the installment amounts and related deadlines via email upon their acceptance into the program.
