Dimitrios Leventakis is a graduate of the Athens University of Economics and Business with a B.A. in Economics and holds a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Indianapolis, Indiana, U.S.A. He has also been certified as a tax advisor by the Economic Chamber of Greece and the International Bureau of Fiscal Documentation (IBFD), an international foundation generally regarded as the foremost authority on cross-border taxation. Keen to share his knowledge with students and peers, Dimitrios is currently an Associate Professor at the Athens University of Economics and Business (ΑΣΟΕΕ), where he lectures on corporate taxation and the Greek Chart of Accounts at the university’s programs. In his role Dimitrios deals with a wide range of accounting and tax compliance issues, involving a diverse portfolio of clients. Having previously held the position of senior manager at EY Greece, he brings with him invaluable experience and expertise through his participation in several major tax services and tax controversy projects. In addition to the above, he has been actively involved in supervising several multinational organisations’ compliance with Greek and/or International Accounting Standards (IFRS). He has also participated in numerous, and often complex, accounting consultancy and cross-border tax transactions, involving, among others, M&As, implementation of E.R.P. systems, and customized applications in accordance with the Greek Chart of Accounts and Greek Accounting Standards. Over the years, Dimitrios has served clients coming from various key business sectors, including the real estate, automotive, oil, gas, mining & exploration, and shipping industry. At the same time, he also offers expert advice on distance sales and digital services, with a particular interest in start-ups.
