Partnerships Development, Cancer Patient Guidance Centre (Kapa3)
Ms. Markela Koniordou studied Biology and Biomedical Research at the University College London in the UK and started her career in the development of drugs for cancer and tropical diseases. Her involvement in global health projects led her to further training in public health at the London School of Tropical Medicine, London, and progressively to positions managing international health programmes (UKaid, IMI2, FP7, H2020) for infection control in countries in Europe, Asia and Africa, as well as setting up research networks. Having gained experience equally in research and in communication, design and evaluation of health projects, her role at Kapa3 involves project management as well as finding valuable partners and alliances in the international and domestic environment. Her main scientific interests are prevention for health, the relationship between environment and health, and communication for health promotion.
