Thanos Polydoros, a distinguished leader in consulting finance and accounting services for the public sector, brings a wealth of experience and expertise as CEO of ANAVATHMISI S.A. Born in Athens in 1983, Thanos holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the Athens University of Economics and Business and is a proud alumnus of the London School of Economics & Political Science (L.S.E.) where he earned his Master of Research (MRes) degree. As a member of the Economic Chamber of Greece and possessing Class A accountant and Internal Auditor licenses, Thanos is recognized for his profound understanding of financial management and regulatory compliance. He is further distinguished as a certified C.O.S.O. Internal Control Auditor, attesting to his commitment to excellence and proficiency in internal control standards.

Since 2014, Thanos has demonstrated unwavering dedication to the public sector, providing invaluable accounting and consulting support exclusively to public sector entities. His tenure as General Director at ANAVATHIMIS S.A from late 2018 to early 2020 exemplified his exceptional leadership and strategic acumen. Under his stewardship, ANAVATHMISI SA has emerged as the foremost provider of accounting and consulting services to municipalities, a testament to Thanos’s visionary leadership and commitment to excellence.

Thanos’s contributions extend beyond the confines of ANAVATHMISI S.A. In collaboration with esteemed professors S.Cohen and S.Karatzima from the Athens University of Economics and Business, he played a pivotal role in drafting the inaugural financial statements for municipalities in Greece, in compliance with Presidential Decree 54/2018 (Fyli Municipality). His dedication to advancing public sector accounting practices is further evidenced by his role as a trainer for the e-Learning Program of the KEDIVIM of the Athens University of Economics and Business since October 2022

Furthermore, Thanos's expertise has been instrumental in shaping the landscape of public sector finance policy. As a member of the Project Team of the General Secretariat of Public Finance Policy (GSGF) - General Secretariat of Public Administration Information Systems (GSGPIS) & Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB), he has been instrumental in driving forward the preparation of the Accounting Reform in the Public Sector (PD 54/2018) since October 2023.In 2019, Thanos founded PlanBe, a strategic consulting company with a mission to foster smart, sustainable, and resilient cities, underscoring his commitment to societal progress and environmental stewardship.
