Ilektra Petrakou is Associate Professor at the Department of Geography, University of the Aegean. Her teaching and research experience as well as her interests are related to issues of geographic movements, asylum and migration, European and national border management policies as well as decision making processes in social, political and international issues. She co-directs the Laboratory of Geographical Movements and Borders of the Department of Geography and has participated and coordinated Greek and European research projects.
