George Leledakis is an Associate Professor of Finance at the Department of Accounting and Finance of Athens University of Economics and Business. Formerly, he was Researcher in the Department of Research and Development at the Athens Stock Exchange, and has held previous appointment as a Research Fellow at Warwick Business School of Warwick University. His holds a BSc in Business Administration from Athens University of Economics and Business, MA in Money, Banking and Finance, from Management School University of Sheffield and PhD in Finance from Warwick Business School. His PhD thesis was supported financially by the State Scholarships Foundation of Greece (ΙΚΥ).
George’s research and teaching interests are in the areas of Corporate Finance and Portfolio Management. In particular, his current research focuses on the mergers and acquisitions, dividend policy, share repurchases, IPOs, venture capital, crowdfunding, textual analysis in finance, the cross-sectional influences on security returns and multi-factor model of equity risk and their use in portfolio management. His work on cross-sectional influences on security returns incorporates investigations on a number of stock market anomalies including firm size effects and the influence of a number of key quantities such as Tobin’s q on overall returns.
He has published in the Journal of Banking and Finance, European Journal of Operational Research, Financial Analysts Journal, Journal of Business Finance and Accounting, Quantitative Finance, Economics Letters, The European Journal of Finance, International Review of Financial Analysis, among other journals.
