Georgios Venieris is a graduate of the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB) and holds a Master of Commerce and a Ph.D. from the University of Birmingham, UK. He was elected Professor (1991) at the Athens University of Economics and Business Administration. He has taught Accounting in the Undergraduate and Postgraduate Programmes of the AUEB. He was an Independent Non-Executive Member of the Board of Directors and Chairman of the Audit Committee of DEI A.E. (2018 – 2021) He has served as Rector of the UBA (2001-2007). He has been Director of the Accounting Applications Laboratory of the Department of Accounting and Finance of the AUEB (2000-2014). He has also served as Chairman of the Board of the Accounting Standardization and Auditing Committee - ELTE (2014-2017). His papers and studies have been published in many Greek and international journals. He has presented papers in many international scientific conferences. He is author/co-author of several university textbooks on Accounting and Finance.
