Short Overview
What are the factors that may transform a smart idea into a successful business? Is it just luck? Is it the timing? The perseverance? The ways it may be financed? There is certainly no single answer. However, there are specific factors that can increase the chances for the successful implementation of a business idea. The program analyzes the most important obstacles a businessman faces for the successful implementation of a business idea. A number of people who have managed to make their ideas a success, analyze the ways they have achieved this and give advice to those who seek to do the same.
Learning Goals
Upon completion of the program, the participants will be able to understand the basic principles governing the operation of a business. Furthermore, they will know the path that should be followed by those who wishe to establish their own business. More specifically:
- They will be able to distinguish the basic characteristics that an idea should have to form the basis for a successful business.
- They will enrich their knowledge regarding the business environment in our country and the limitations it poses.
- They will be aware of the possible dangers of possible interceptions of their ideas as well as the ways they can preserve their ideas.
- Become familiar with the concepts of business plan and business model. They will be able to draw up and present a business plan based on their idea.
- They will be informed about the possible cost of starting and operating a startup business as well as the ways their ideas can be financed.
- They will be informed about the challenges that start-ups face at their various stages of development, as well as the ways to overcome them.
- They will understand the most important reasons for the failure of some startups.
- They will be informed about the key characteristics of successful startups both in Greece and abroad.
Program Value
After the successful completion of the course trainees will be able to know all the challenges they are going to face, when implementing the business idea they have by creating a new business.
Evaluation Method And Final Grade Computation
Evaluation is based on online assessment tests, as well as on an intermediate and final assignment. Successful completion of the program and conferral of the training certificate requires a final grade of at least 50%.
Learning Method Description
The program uses the eLearning educational method: learning takes place purely asynchronously (that is, on days and hours that serve the trainee, without mandatory attendance at a specific time or day), exclusively remotely (using a special educational platform via the internet from the trainee's area) and using digital educational tools such as video lectures, interactive self-assessment exercises, and other elearning tools that ensure effective and flexible individual self-learning. The program's training material becomes available at specific time periods, based on the training path followed, and then remains available on the training platform without restrictions throughout the duration of the program.

Vocational Education and Training Certificate
Trainees who successfully complete the program are granted a Vocational Education and Training Certificate of the Center for Education and Lifelong Learning of the Athens University of Economics and Business, which is accompanied by a Supplement to the Certificate, detailing the subject of the program, the thematic units attended by the trainee , as well as the training methodology followed.

The program is aimed at those who intend to establish a new business regardless of their education. The program can be attended by high school graduates, students, graduates of Universities, Technological Educational Institutes, etc.

Mode And Frequency Of Communication
Communication is purely asynchronous, via emails and/or personal messages through the training platform. There will be a limited number of conference calls.
Cost
ELEARNING: 300€
Installements
The total amount of tuition is €300 and is paid in two installments. The first installment, of €150, is paid as an advance before the start of the courses, to secure the place, and the second, of €150, is paid before the program is half completed. In the event of a discount, the above amounts are reduced proportionally. Especially in the case of a 20% discount, the above amounts are set at €240 (total amount), €150 (first installment - ??advance payment) and €90 (second installment).
Trainees are informed of the installment amounts and related deadlines via email upon their acceptance into the program.
