Short Overview
The Business Process Management (BPM) program is a comprehensive and specialized educational product offered for the first time under the auspices of the Athens University of Economics and Business. The content, structure and combination of the various training methods make the program effective in terms of direct transfer of acquired knowledge and skills to the workplace. Its uniqueness lies in its active involvement learner with (1) real business data coming from various industries but also from his workplace, and (2) real life information system. During the laboratory part of the program, hands on training is provided in one of the most widespread systems, SAP ERP, with the continuous guidance of experienced instructors in the field. The program aims to familiarize participants with the basic concepts and tools of business process management in modern businesses.
Learning Goals
Upon completion of the program, trainees/participants:
  • will develop skills in analyzing, modeling and implementing business processes so that they can understand, manage, control, improve/redesign and evaluate operational processes of their administrative responsibility.
  • will be able to contribute to the optimal utilization of information systems and the redesign of the processes that "run through" their organization, creating measurable and visible value.
  • will develop skills in investigating, recording and documenting business processes and will be familiar with tools and methodologies of analysis & modeling.
  • will have the opportunity to access an SAP ECC environment for records and data management (creation, maintenance, display) as well as the production of operational reports.
  • will develop end-user capabilities (SAP end user).
  • will understand - at a practical level - business functions and processes of consolidation and use of available business data through the integration of SAP subsystems and selected case studies that they will need to implement in a real SAP ECC environment.
Program Value
The uniqueness of the program lies in the active involvement of the trainee with (1) real business data coming from various industries but also from his workplace, and (2) real (live) information system. During the laboratory part of the program, hands on training is provided in one of the most widespread systems, SAP ERP, with the continuous guidance of experienced instructors in the field.
Evaluation Method And Final Grade Computation
Online examination through multiple choice questions and/or assignment at the end of each unit. Successful completion of the program and award of a training certificate requires a final grade of at least 50%.
Learning Method Description
The program uses the eLearning educational method: learning takes place purely asynchronously (that is, on days and hours that serve the trainee, without mandatory attendance at a specific time or day), exclusively remotely (using a special educational platform via the internet from the trainee's area) and using digital educational tools that ensure effective and flexible individual self-learning. The program's training material becomes available at specific time periods, based on the training path followed, and then remains available on the training platform without restrictions throughout the duration of the program.
